Discworld

Post by Sam_Vimes » Thu Aug 29, 2013 1:30 pm

Any fans of the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett? I love these books, I (re)read several a year, and always make sure to read Hogfather during December.

All of his characters are memorable and distinctive, and laughs are always guaranteed :D

I've been meaning to read it, but I don't know what books to start with. Any suggestions?

<I would find out what book came out first and read them in that order, or read them in the order they take place, if there even is a difference.>
<That usually works for most book series.>
<Just don't try to read them alphabetically, that would go poorly for most series.>

I'm making my way through the Sam Vimes books at the moment, they're definitely some of the best books in the series. To find what order to read them you can google "discworld reading order" and there is a chart which shows the different stories each in chronological order, it's pretty helpful if you don't know where to start.

Yeah, I can't imagine why anybody would read a book series in alphabetical order.
Wait. . . .

<Yeah, the order they came out? Yes. The order they take place? Yes. Alphabetical order when they didn't come out in that order? Not unless you feel like confusing yourself.>

I wonder if there is any book series that did come out in alphabetical order.
