They wouldn't start by suing, they'd send a Cease and Desist notice first. Then if the eBooks aren't taken down, they'd start legal action against the site's owner.

The author's wishes very rarely have any kind of legal impact. Scholastic have an equal share in the copyright, and may at any point in the future decide to reprint the books. The existence of free eBooks on the internet affects any potential profit that might come from reprinting, so that's why they'd insist on having them taken down.

That's one of my biggest problems with most (if not all; definitely all of the ones I've spoken with) of the big publishing companies. Part of the standard deal is that they get a share (usually equal) of the copyright. Basically, you sell your work to them to do with as they please. Sometimes you get to keep some control (there are, of course, some authors who could hold their publishers at metaphoric knife-point), but for the vast majority of writers, you're pretty much powerless.

Of course, for writers like me, we'll take whatever bone they'll throw us. We're basically prostitutes.

So, as I said earlier, it's useful sometimes..
I read that one yesterday! What a coincedence.. you reall are the puppet master... LOL

That is quite an interesting way to phrase it. ;)

my problem is this. The scrolling setting is set to full blast. i try to scroll down to a book, and it scrolls all the way to the bottom of the list, well past where i want to be. i try to scroll up, and it scrools all the way back to the top. i've tried clicking and moving the mouse icon away from the up and down arrow, but that doesn't work either. Suggestions?

There's nothing we can do. Ask Scholastic to release a version with the fixes.

There some discussion regarding porting the Anibase to an open-source version, but I think there wasn't much progress.

Just downloaded, already found an error. It does not mention that Ax and Tobias are seen morphing wolves for the first time in #39.
