Re: Book 32: The Separation
I'm not a big fan of this book because I think it oversimplifies Rachel's personality. She either an air-headed mallrat or a hot headed warrior.
The best part is the quote at the end where Tobias says, <Yeah. Let's go, Rachel,> he said. <The two of you and the two of me. Let's go.> I love the sweet little moments like this.

Somehow, I actually remember you mentioning that a long time ago. Can't you just read the E-book, anyway?
Animorphs: The Abridged Series. Post there so I'm not lonely.
So just shut your face and take a seat, 'cause after all, we're just talking meat. And music?
Well, it's just entertainment, folks.

Re: Book 32: The Separation
I keep thinking about how fun it would be to adapt these stories into 45-minute television scripts. I've been trying to spot inconsistencies and other crap in the series and edit them to make sense. It's oddly entertaining. This story, however, seems so impossible that I wouldn't even try. You're split in half and morph back. I guess it's possible that the halves could morph back, but splitting the personalities is just crazy.

Ok this was one if my favorites. It's kinda like seeing Rachel before she was an animorph and the effects the war has had in her.

Re: Book 32: The Separation
I liked this one because I thought it showed the Rachel's complexity. I didn't think it was over-simplifying her character or whatever. To the contrary, I thought it made her even more multi-layered. Showed that she wasn't just the shopaholic with a daredevil streak, but that she was a universe of her own. I saw it as a kind of yin and yang study. Rachel is 'sweet and sour'. If you made lemonade without any sugar, or without any lemon, it would be a disaster. No one wants sugar-water or lemon-water, but lemonade is fantastic! Combined, they're more than the sum of their parts. Mean Rachel was just as crippled by what Mean Rachel was missing as Nice Rachel was by what Nice Rachel was missing. I just would have called them something other than 'mean' and 'nice'.
