I love the Halo soundtracks! I have the first two lying around in my room somewhere....
Choral music is thematic and fantastic. :)

Well, I didn't actually buy my copies... but they are indeed brilliant. Harald Kloser's work for The Day After Tomorrow comes close.

The Day After Tomorrow soundtrack is pretty good too, though I don't have it.

And I might even add LOTR to that list, plus quite a few old classical tunes.

Interestingly enough, the opening from Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No 1 was copied almost exactly in The Last Goodnight's Pictures of You (terrible song). This fact irritates me. :x

Library. Blank CDs. Voila. :)

I have all three LotR soundtracks, which are also amazing, and a lot of other awesome soundtracks. For me, a movie/show/game is only as good as its soundtrack. I think this is the main reason why I enjoyed Inception so much; the music did it for me. Plus, I'm a sucker for Edith Piaf and I'm not even French! Er, bad French Club joke.

Grr! Gymnopedie No 1 is one of my favorite piano pieces and one of four songs I still sort of remember how to play. To have its notes tarnished within a bad song fills me with righteous anger!

For real? I'm in a library right now. I'm going to go find the music section...

And I know a few movies with great soundtracks that are still pitiful. :(

Also, I swear to someday avenge the defilement of that song, someday.

For real. I've found many an awesome soundtrack at the library.

That's true. The point being, soundtracks, therefore music, is very important to me and how I perceive things.

I will join you and together we will bring honor back to Satie. But I still have to avenge Imogen Heap's song "Hide and Seek" after after Jason Derulo shamelessly used it in his song "Whatcha Say".

OMFG, Derulo must die as well! The original song compelled me to actually buy Imogen Heap's discography. And, unfortunately, the cds in that library weren't kept in their cases and I didn't have my library card- otherwise they would all now be in my Media Library.

"Hide and Seek" was my first encounter with Imogen Heap's work, and I've been a fan ever since. Her a capella songs are especially good. Check out this version of "Just For Now": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x47OSBwHWkg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. This is my favorite song by her. And it was because of her that I became interested in other solo artists that use looping and layers. Have you heard of Zoe Keating? If you like instrumental, thematic music, check her out. She uses nothing but a cello and looping/layering software to create epic music pieces. :)

Wow, I like that. And apparently she did some stuff on the Breaking Bad soundtrack (brilliant show (: ). She's going on my download list.
