My current favorites are Five for Fighting and Owl City. However, I tend to like individual songs rather than bands and I haven't bought a CD since I was about eight.

The Doors is my favorite band....They are just amazing, and Jim Morrison actually knew how to write lyrics that actually meant something and he wrote real poetry in his lyrics and the music itself was amazing and original....

My top 6 most listened to would be these:

1) System of a Down
2) Tool
3) Disturbed
4) BT
5) Nightwish
6) Velvet Acid Christ

I've been listening to System of a Down for as long as I can remember though. Got to see Disturbed in concert in high school. It was the BEST show I've ever been to. Nobody seemed arrogant or stuck up. They involved the crowd in things, and more than just the typical waving of arms and such. I remember seeing some chick flash the band. Couldn't help but laugh when the vocalist made a comment about them having not being made by God and he'd like to shake the hand of the doctor that made that pair. Nightwish, BT (he produces under that, it's really his initials), and Velvet Acid Christ were only added within the last three or four years thanks to the internet. To be honest, I don't listen to all THAT much of Tool, just the 10,000 Days album. It's the ONLY album from ANY artist that I can play from start to finish without skipping a song or getting bored. "Right in Two" has got to be my favorite song by them and probably of all the artists I listen to.
