The AFF Oscars: Best Book-to-Film Adaptation?

Post by BabelFish42 » Sun Mar 10, 2013 4:38 pm

Some books (think Hunger Games) turn out great or even better than the original story when they're translated into film. Other stories (think Animorphs TV series)... not so much.

If YOU were giving out Oscars, not just for this year, but for all years, what would you say is the best movie (or TV show) you've ever seen that's based on a book?

I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know any of those were based on books. Well, except for The Notebook, but I've never read the book.

I thought they did a pretty good job with Hunger Games - I liked the movie better than the book, which rarely happens. Cloud Atlas and Life of Pi were also pretty well done, I thought. Idk, maybe I just have more recent movies on my mind.
