Ax's Human Morph

Post by renegadewayfarer » Wed Dec 17, 2008 3:09 am

This Topic was once a Topic of the Week. See here for more information.

I'm no geneticist, but I'm pretty sure that when Ax morphed a mixture of the DNA he collected from the gang, that's pretty much impossible. He broke down DNA, the double helix, and rearranged them to a composite mixture of four different persons? Is it just because he was an alien? If that's the case, why hasn't he ever tried that trick before with other morphs?

I guess it's simpler just to copy the animal's DNA.

It's called a Frolis maneuver. It's implied to be rather simple so long as the DNA comes from the same species and incredibly difficult if it doesn't. So difficult in fact, that only Estreens can do it properly.

Where did that info come from? I'm not doubting you, I just can't remember.

I haven't read any of the books in several years, so I can't answer, sorry. My memory was refreshed by Wikipedia, though, you could try there and see if it helps you at all.

it must have been some very complicated Andalite technology because if even one mistake is make with DNA, things can go terribly wrong

when absorbing a person's dna, is it possible to absorb the dna of millions of bacteria living on the person's skin? i'm not exactly sure how that works, maybe u only absorb the dna of whatever animal u are focusing on

just a little reminder, when you absorb DNA, that's all you get. anything besides that is omitted. thats why when jake and the others made the auxiliary animorphs, some were cured of their injuries. hope this helps

Meh, just do what I do in this type of situation. Repeat after me:

Just repeat to yourself "it's just a show" (or a book in this case)
You should really just relax.
