On the 5 post requirement

Post by supern0va » Fri Jun 27, 2008 3:22 pm

Is that really neccessary? You'll end up with people spamming their 5 posts so they can download the ebooks

Just to prove my point, I'll add my fifth comment here and be on with it. There you have it :)

----------------------------------------------3rd Post---------------------------------------------------

Sigh, must have miscounted. Will this be enough then?

The reason for the five post limit is that we don’t want people hitching a free ride and downloading the ebooks from our server. We want you to contribute at least five meaningful posts to our forum. After that, if you decide you like it and stick around, great! If not, you never have to post again.

And we will not tolerate spamming on our boards. Thanks.

This requirement is actually very reasonable. most forums requirements are a lot higher to get to the good stuff. and i completely agree with the reasonings even tho they can be a pain for leechers but who wants a leecher anyway.

I have seen forums that have required 20 posts, 5 really isn't that much. I don't really know what is considered to be a long enough post to count as one of the initial 5 but I'm assuming it isn't too incredibly high.

Also, I agree that sometimes leechers suck! Yay for puns!

Haha... I admit I joined this site at first partially because of the ebooks, but mainly because I love the Animorphs more than I love any other book series and I really want to be able to talk about it. And the ironic thing is in the end I didn't even get my ebooks from this forum -.- I got them from RAF instead xD
This fight is personal.

You might be right, Cyber. But as long as it's relevant, I don't see any real problem with it, especially if it's not a post we had to approve.

And LUcky, don't worry; I was pretty much the same way. I just joined up to get my eBooks; I had no desire to hang out on an Internet forum with other fans (........yeah, I know.........). Glad you decided to come back here, though. AFF is where the party is!
