Well, if there was an Animorphs movie, I would have to be an actor/VA.
Kidding, kidding. We've had some discussions about this on here before, but I don't think we've ever really went into depth about what would make an Animorphs movie good or bad.

To start with, it's pretty obvious that it should not be based on the TV show. Even if you liked the show, you'd have to admit that at this point, people wouldn't accept something that deviated so far from the books. In order to please a decent-sized audience, a movie would have to be based on the books, which have many more fans than the TV show.

I personally think that a straight-up adaptation of the books, though, wouldn't make for a good movie. While I definitely think that certain parts of the books should be put right into a movie, simply copying the books to movie form would make for a movie that is way, way too long and end up being entirely boring. Think about it, I don't think most people would want to marathon through the books in one session, nor would they want to sit through them in a movie. So, I think that mainly sticking to the plot of the books while adding or removing some parts would be the way to go.
Animorphs: The Abridged Series. Post there so I'm not lonely.

So just shut your face and take a seat, 'cause after all, we're just talking meat. And music?

Well, it's just entertainment, folks.

<When a book is turned into a movie they take half the pages out anyway, so I think Book 1, 3 and 4 should be 1 movie, with a lot of the parts taken out.>

There is a lot in the first book that could be taken out, so I agree with Tobias_Marco. Having said that, I prefer movies that stay as close to the texts as possible. They could do a lot worse than just ripping the speech and the actions from the book.

An Animorphs movie could be really amazing.
I don't think they'd do a good job of it though.
I was never a huge fan of the tv series.
It was just way too cheasy.

I think it's hard to do telepathy without it seeming really pathetic.
So I don't know how they'd do thoughtspeak without it sounding stupid.

With all the teen hero movies they're doing lately I'm surprised that that they haven't thought about doing an Animorphs movie.

<Telepathy has been done in many movies, so it wouldn't be hard to do it in an Animorph movie, the trick is finding good writers.>

As long as the series is, I think TV series is still the way to go. They would even have standard filler episodes later in the series like any good TV show. If it had to be in movie format then I think 2-3 movies for the series would be best.

Another thing is that I think it should be animated in the style of Last Airbender or Legend of Korra. I have two main reasons for this. 1) they could focus on really good voice actors and not people that just look like the characters and 2) they could do good representations of the various aliens, planets and technologies without needing an insane budget. I'm halfway through the TV series and budget was obviously an issue since they are humans over 95% of the time- even Ax. There are so many scenes where I'm like "Why don't they just morph?", "What was the point of morphing for just 5 minutes?" or "Why on Earth are they exploring the Visser's ship as humans?!"

I say Taxxons definitley have to included in a film adaptation. People tend to rag on the Taxxons but i feel they are just as essential to the Animorphs mythos as Andalites and horkbajir. Additionally they NEED to include the actual battle morphs that the animorphs used in the books. It was so frustrating to see the morphs used in the tv series.
