nice name *looks around for advise* uuuummm...which name u like better?twan or juan? ANYway, even though i know a lot of ppl named juan, no i've never heard of a juan joke. '1111 race 22112' was pretty funny.i cant believe i even remembered the order the numbers go in.btw, u know what all my friends call me other than 'forrest'?Wesch. it was my 'name' when i was 5 yrs old cause i couldnt pronouce 'forrest'. its quite a funny name. it sounds like 'wash' except the 'a' is replaced by an 'e'.

i've got one better then Wesch; Tegwyn. NO ONE can pronounce my name, so most of the time i'm stuck with nicknames like Penguin, or Teggles. the most original one so far was Tengweenie.

plus, to top it all off, it's a boys name. no one else knows that, of course, but I do, which makes it worse, because i'm stuck with a boys name which is not even recognizable as a boys name. It's like having a rabid pet pit-bull that just looks like a pomeranian brushing it's teeth.

Yeah, Tegwyn is quite difficult to pronounce, even by my standards. I've seen a lot of difficult-to-pronounce names, and Tegwyn would definitely rank among the top ones.

LOL. Reminded me of Linguini from Ratatouille. ;)

Yeah, it's embarrassing when someone thinks you are a girl because of your name. One of my friend has a unique name for a boy, which, in this part of the world, is commonly taken for a girl's name. So I know what you are talking about.

I obviously, misunderstood you. Perhaps, I read through your post too fast. It's been a real bad day for me and I'm too tired to read correctly.
Yeah, your situation is even worse. But, in your place, I'd be quite happy about the fact that no one else knows about it being a boy's name. :)

well, yeah, maybe that didn't make a whole lot of sense. sorry about my atrocious grammar. let me rephrase that; my last name is John, so whenever i go anywhere (appointments, school, camps, etc.) the receptionist or teacher or whatever are always calling out "john! is there a john here?" and finally someone goes "John Tegwyn! a mr.tegwyn please!". then i pop up and they look all awkward.

the worst case was when i went to a new school, the receptionist took down my name wrong and assigned a locker to 'tegwyn, john' in the boys locker room.

well, one time i was waiting to get my hair cut the the stylist was all "John? John tegwyn?" and i go "thats me!" and the stylist goes,"um no, i'm looking for a John, as in the boys name." it took a while to convince him

another time, i was wearing a sweatshirt with 'TEGWYN' on the back, and my Vice Principal comes up and goes "Hey, how do you pronounce your last name?" and I say "John" and he looks kinda confused and goes "oh, well i've never seen John spelled that way before. Is it slavic?"

At this point, i burst out laughing and had to explain it to him. :D
